Professor T.C.Poon from Virginia Tech Gave Report
Update: 2015-07-09

On May 30th 2015, Professor T.C. Poon from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University gave reports named “Progress in Optical Scanning Holography”. The seminar was hold by Professor Jiao Zhiyong. Optical Scanning Holography (OSH) is a special digital holography technology. It realize the records of 3D real time holography with 2D optical heterodyne scanning. Until now, the application of the technology includes optical scanning encipherment, optical microscope, 3D mode recognition, 3D holography television and 3D optical remote sensing. The report firstly provided an overview of optical scanning holography, then gave comment of its recent progress and potential benefits.

Professor T.C. Poon, professor of College of Electric and Computer Science of Virginia Tech. his current study interest includes 3D image processing and optical scanning holography. He is the author of publication Optical Scanning Holography and MATLAB, Modern Digital Holography and Introduction to MATLAB, Engineering Optics with MATLAB, Contemporary Optical Image Processing with MATLAB and Applied Optical Theory. He was also editor of Digital Holographic 3D Display (Springer, 2006) and visiting editor for International Optics and Optoelectronics Engineering. Professor Poon is currently associate editor for 中国光学快报 and IEEE Industrial Information. He is also senior member of Optical Society of American (OSA), Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) and Institute of Physics (IOP).
