Abstract:

Many-objective optimization problems (MaOPs) are challenging  optimization problems that have four or more conflicting objectives to be optimized simultaneously. In recent years, studying evolutionary computation (EC) for solving MaOPs has become a very hot topic in the EC community. This talk will first introduce the concepts of EC for MaOPs and describe the main challenges researchers face when using EC for MaOPs. Then, it will present some recent works on addressing these challenges, including visualization, performance measures for comparing EC methods for MaOPs, and some recently developed EC methods for solving MaOPs. Finally, some conclusions and future directions on EC for MaOPs will be briefly provided.
