Professor Meng Xinzhu and Doctor Zhang Tonghua Gave Reprots
Update: 2015-06-25

Recently, professor Meng Xinzhu, from Shandong University of Science and Technology and Zhang Tonghua from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia was invited for academic communication, separately giving reports named “Application of Differential Equation in Evolution Adapted Dynamical System” and “Time Delay-induced Turing instability”.

Professor Meng Xinzhu introduced the significance of evolution dynamic study basing on the evolution of human being and ichthyoids. He gave detailed explain of how to study the evolution stability and branch with fitness function. By combining the population dynamics and evolution dynamics, he shows that natural selection is beneficial for biotic population’s direction evolution while manual intervention is not. The conclusion was confirmed by experimental data.

Dr. Zhang Tonghua introduced the Turing pattern induced by spread and time delay. In biomathematics, even a tiny time delay induces fundamental change of dynamical behavior. Recently scholars studied the effect of tiny time delay on systematic dynamic behavior using Taylor expansion. The report mainly gave discussion on effect of random time delay on Turing pattern. Firstly he gave review of classical Turing instability mechanics. Then he gave discussion on how to compute the critical value of time delay for diffusion equation with time delay reaction. Finally, he gave example of genetic expression model and predation model, showing the formation of Turing pattern within certain diffusion coefficient range.

Meng Xinzhu, professor of Shandong University of Science and Technology, He got Doctorial Degree in 2008 and did post doctoral study in Chinese Academy of Science and Umea University, Sweden from 2009-2012. He gave deciding methods for the existency and stability of time-delay almost periodic system’s almost periodical solution, qualitative analyze method for impulse time-delay population model and non autonomous differential system and impulse differential system based evolution dynamic method. He is in charge of Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province, Swedish Postdoctoral Fundation and China Postdoctoral Foundation. He has publication Biodynamic and over 50 journals, including over 30 indexed by SCI and 10 by EI with over 500 citations.

Dr. Zhang Tonghua got doctorial degree in July 2005 in Shanghai Jiaotong University. Then he started postdoctoral study in Curtin Technology University, Australia in the same year. He worked in Curtin University from 2007 to 2010. He is now doctoral supervisor of Department of Applied Mathematics, Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. He has publications including 4 books and 60 SCI indexed papers. His main study interest is differential equation and dynamic system.
